Encuentros is a digital annual journal, a product of the collaboration between the Graduate School of Planning (GSP) of the University of Puerto Rico-Río Piedras Campus (UPRRP) and the Puerto Rico Research Hub (PRRH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF).

The journal’s objective is the dissemination of original works aimed at understanding, improving, or transforming the spatial and territorial sphere. The journal seeks to delve into issues related to planning, land use, public policy, and urban design or theory. Works that collect opinions, perspectives, analyses, or syntheses accompanied by primary or secondary evidence that supports the arguments, will be published.

The journal also publishes pieces by authors who summarize their research published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as reviews of books, movies, or events related to the journal’s topics of interest. Published articles will primarily cover Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rican diaspora communities, but articles covering any other part of the world are also welcome.

Please find more details about the 2024 Call for Papers below. All articles should be submitted no later than August 1st, 2024, and sent to revistaencuentros@upr.edu.
