English for Healthcare

The online English for Healthcare course is designed to build medical language proficiency and clinical communication skills. It integrates medical terminology instruction with pronunciation and speaking practice tailored for ESL learners in healthcare education. Through a combination of interactive course resources and AI-assisted learning tools, pronunciation drills, and clinical communication simulations, students will develop fluency and confidence in understanding and using medical vocabulary across all major body systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding clinical discourse, engaging empathetically with patients, and applying communication strategies in diverse healthcare scenarios.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
  1. Demonstrate accurate understanding and use of medical terminology related to major body systems in spoken and written clinical communication.
  2. Produce intelligible and accurate pronunciation of key medical vocabulary and common clinical expressions through guided speaking and pronunciation practice.
  3. Interpret and respond appropriately to common clinical discourse, including patient descriptions of symptoms, provider instructions, and healthcare team communication.
  4. Engage in simulated healthcare interactions using empathetic and culturally appropriate communication strategies when speaking with patients and colleagues.
  5. Apply communication skills and medical vocabulary in diverse healthcare scenarios, demonstrating increased fluency and confidence in English for clinical contexts.

Healthcare students and employees, including nurses and medical staff.
