BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Silvana Dushku is Faculty Administrator and Director of academic English language programs at the University of Central Florida. As a Senior Language Education Strategist, she consults on language program development, evaluation, and accreditation. Silvana worked as the IEP Assistant Director for over a decade at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
She also served for several years as Director of the Community Language Program, TESOL Certificate Program, and Language Program Management Certificate Program at Teachers College, Columbia University, in NYC. She has taught EFL/ESL for over three decades and has been involved in language program development, curriculum and materials design, and teacher training nationally and internationally. Silvana has published in various academic journals and is the co-author of Campus Talk: Effective Communication Beyond the Classroom textbook series (Edinburgh University Press, 2021).
Her interests include teaching and researching vocabulary and oral discourse, and applications of corpus linguistics and technology in ELT.
